Altitude training is nowadays applied in routine practice among athletes, coaches and sport scientists. Personalized approach to altitude training and hypoxic “dose” is one of the key questions. The purpose of present study is to reveal hypoxic test’s validity and to demonstratethe difference in hypoxic tolerance in athletes with different training level and sports specialization using the clinical hypoxic test. The study involved 132 volunteers: untrained people and athletes of different training level. All subjects were tested for determination of resistance to hypoxia using the breathing with hypoxic mixture with SpO2 determination during the test. According to the data high resistance to hypoxia was found in mountaineers and free-divers compared with athletes of other sports specialization. Was shown the reliability of hypoxic test not in athletes of different training level and the test can be applied in practice sportsphysiology.
