Objective: to develop a methodology for assessment of the results of clinical and functional examination of athletes endurance sports (biathlon and cross country skiing).
Materials and Methods: the study involved 38 experienced athletes of endurance sports: 22 male (mean age – 21,3±2,4 years) and 16 female (mean age – 19,6±1,8 years).
Results: the influence of the level of training expertise and the period of the training process on the choice of protocol-specific load testing was shown; the comparative analysis of basic functional parameters during the nonspecific and specific loading was made; the system of specific load testing for highly trained athletes of ski sports for assessment of their functional and adaptive reserves was developed and tested.
Conclusions: the universal protocols of specific functional testing for ski sports athletes were developed and tested, which allows choose testing loads with consideration of professional activities of athlete, their gender, the level of sports skills, as well as the period of the training process.
