NEW CHANGES IN INTERNATIONAL PARALYMPIC COMMITTEE POWERLIFTING CLASSIFICATION RULES AND REGULATION

IPC Powerlifting gathered classification representatives for a two-day meeting in Bonn, Germany, on 18-19 February 2015 to discuss a variety of topics affecting the future of the sport. Further to a decision of IPC Powerlifting Sport Technical Committee it was decided to remove the 20 degree elbow angle rule from the classification process as it does not fit into the Minimum Impairment Criteria of the sport. This decision was made based on the data obtained in the research, conducted in the Department of sports medicine and Medical Rehabilitation of the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University.
