THE STUDY OF REGIONAL REDISTRIBUTION OF BLOOD FLOW IN ATHLETES DURING ORTHOSTATIC TEST

The cardiac (stroke volume, cardiac output) and peripheral (legs, arms, neck and abdominal region) hemodynamics in response to orthostatic stress in athletes was studied with an impedance monitor. It was found that stroke volume, cardiac output, pulse (ml) and regional (ml/min) blood volumes in legs reduced more significantly in response to the tilt test in athletes. On the contrary, pulse and regional blood volume in the neck decreased to a lesser extent, indicating more effective distribution of blood volumes in the peripheral blood vessels aimed at maintaining cerebral blood flow during orthostress.
