This artivcle investigates the influence of a history of previous regular sports activities in patients with ischemic heart disesase. It presents the results of examination and treatment of 64 patients with ischemic heart disease (angina pectoris class II-III), average age – 61,2±4,1. The patients were devided in 2 groups depending on a history of previous sports activities. In first group were patients who performed sports early in their life, in the second – who were not. The patients in both groups were provided same standard treatment, in accordance to national guidelines. During 6 months the frequency of admission to hospital, numbers of myocardial infarction and echocardiography examinations were investigated. It was shown that a history of regular sports activities has beneficial effect on compensatory abilities of the cardiovascular system when developing ischemic heart disease.
