EFFECT OF DEPRESSION ON THE FUNCTIONAL TESTS OF PHYSICAL QUALITIES

The effect of non-psychotic depression at the time of the evaluation of functional tests and physical qualities of athletes engaged in physical therapy. Applied psychopathological examination using the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale and the testing was conducted using a sample assessment of resistance to respiratory hypoxia Stange and evaluation of a simple visual-motor response in 103 adolescents 12–18 years of age. It is proved that a moderate degree of depression was significantly reduced performance: endurance test for the Spar and speed, as measured by a simple hand-eye reaction. Mild depression significant changes in the physical qualities of the data found. This result points to the need for correction or prevention of moderate depression with a deterioration in some of the physical qualities of engaging in physical culture and sports.
