This article demonstrates a rare case study of a 67-year-old woman with a history of a pacemaker implant (since 1991) with replacements (in 1995, 2000 and 2007) and long-distance running (marathon running during 22 years). This case study shows possible sportactivities in patients with a pacemaker implant, even in older patients. The article reflects that an automatic operating pacemaker with DDDR mode is the most convenient choice to maintain atrio-ventricular synchronization when the heart rate goes under set limits.
