THE EFFEC T OF PROLONGED PERSONALIZED APPROACH IN REHABILITATION PROGRAMS ON FUNCTIONAL STATUS, AND THE PA TIENTS’ QUALITY OF LIFE AFTER KIDNEY TRANSPLANT ATION

Objective: To assess the effect of prolonged personalized approach in rehabilitation programs on functional status, stamina and the patients’ quality of life after kidney transplantation. Material and methods: The results of examination and treatment of 57 recipients (average age − 35±9,65) of donor kidney at different times of the postoperative period were analyzed. Depending on the rehabilitation program 2 groups of patients were identified: I group – physical rehabilitation was carried out only on a stationary stage of medical rehabilitation; II group – prolonged personalized program of one year physical rehabilitation were conducted. Functional status, stamina and quality of life were assessed at the 1, 3, 6 and 12 months after surgery.
Results: In both groups after one year later surgery in comparison with preoperative rates were marked the amelioration. Thus, in the I group the overall, physical, psychological and adaptive reserves rates were increased 1.5 times; both physical and mental components of quality of life were increased 1.5−2 times in comparison with patients who have rehabilitation programs only on the stationary stage of treatment.
Conclusions: Personalized approach to the selection of physical rehabilitation program and its prolonged conduction are an important part of treatment and rehabilitation activities after kidney transplantation that help to significantly improve the functional status, stamina and quality of life.
